Broken Head Camping Holiday Park – Five Favourite Kids Activities
School Holidays are just around the corner and keeping the kids busy for the next few weeks is foremost on the minds of most parents. Byron Bay family accommodation locations offer a large number of activities that are child friendly. Here are the top five favourite activities in the Byron Bay area that will keep both kids and parents entertained.
1. Broken Head Camping
Pack up your tents and camping gear and head to the Broken Head Holiday Park situated on the borders of a National Park and with direct beach access. The Broken Head Camping grounds are designed to provide Byron Bay family accommodation with all the necessary amenities to make a camping trip easy on adults and exciting for the kids. The kiosk stocks basic necessities while the upgraded barbeque facilities make feeding the family fun.
Direct beach access gives the kids plenty time to get rid of their energy playing in the sand and surf. Nature walks and trails are also available at the nearby National Park. If camping isn’t really your thing, you can have access to the beach and National Park activities in one of the Byron Bay cabins at Broken Head Holiday Park. In addition, Broken Head Camping grounds offer caravanning sites.
2. Surfing
Surfing is a definite must when staying in one of the Byron Bay cabins or at the Broken Head camping grounds. Experienced surfers can take a short walk down to the beach to catch the waves and kids or adults with a little less experience can get some surfing lessons under their belt. Give a child a surfboard and some time at one of the local surfing schools and they will keep themselves entertained for hours on end. Children of all ages can learn to surf.
3. Cape Byron Marine Park
This marine park is famous for dolphin and whale watching. It is an ideal day out for families who love to explore and see a variety of different sea and land animals interacting in their natural habitats. At certain times of the year you can even see baby Loggerhead turtle hatchlings make their way into the ocean. Your kids will love the experience.
Although the Cape Byron Marine Park does focus on conservation, it also proudly provides fishing opportunities. You can contact the park to find out how you can take the kids out fishing or just watch while others anglers pull in and sort their catch. You will be amazed at the wide variety of fish and other sea life that is caught in the area to be brought to your table.
4. Kite Flying
The wide expanses of beach just outside the Broken Head Camping and Holiday Park is the ideal location for kite flying. You can bring your own kites along or visit one of the nearby towns or markets where you can find a number of different kites for sale. It is guaranteed that your kids will be thrilled at the experience and exhausted after a day spent learning to fly a kite.
5. Snorkeling
The wide array of sea creatures in this stretch of coastline is simply awe inspiring. You can choose to take your kids on a snorkeling adventure just off the beachfront of the Broken Head Camping grounds or charter a boat to take them further out into the ocean. Scuba diving is also available but is only suitable for older kids.
