1. Julian Rocks Dive Tour

Are you an experienced or newly certified diver? Then give your flippers some practice with a Certified Dive Tour at Julian Rocks Marine Reserve. You can be sure that it will be money well spent. You will be able to spot a diverse array of marine life at this popular dive site, including all different kinds of fishes, friendly leopard sharks, manta rays, and three different species of sea turtle.
All gear is provided, though you have the option to use your own dive equipment. Be sure to book well in advance as they can get very busy.
2. Sea Turtle Snorkel Tour

If you’re not a certified diver, then a Sea Turtle Snorkel Tour in Byron Bay is another option. This tour is also at Julian Rocks Marine Reserve and it is supervised by qualified dive staff. Swim with friendly sea turtles and catch a glimpse of graceful manta rays soaring beneath, as well as colourful fishes and corals.
All equipment is included, as well as optional camera hire, they’ll even give you a free snorkel lesson in a heated training pool!
3. Whale Watching Cruise

Take a Byron Bay Whale Watching Cruise with your family or group of friends for a memorable experience. Whale watching season runs from May to November, with humpback whales regularly cruising past the coastline between Ballina and Byron Bay.

4. Dolphin Kayak Tour

Kayaking shoulder-to-shoulder with amazing dolphins is simply a must-do while you’re in Byron Bay. This Dolphin Kayak Tour is a 2 to 2.5 hour guided kayak around Byron Bay Marine Park where a residential group of bottlenose dolphins live. If you are lucky you might also spot a Humpback Whale passing by. Tours depart daily at 9:30am or 2pm.
5. Ocean To Summit Tour

If you’re looking for a multi-day experience then the Ocean To Summit Adventure Tour is an option. This tour combines two must-do experiences, kayaking with dolphins and a sunrise trek up to the summit of Mount Warning. Both parts of the tour are managed by experienced guides and all gear for kayaking and camping is included, though you will need to bring some specific gear, such as comfortable clothes, a long sleeved rashie, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat and swimmers.
